Latest release: THREEEPS
24/11/23
24/11/23
Formed in late 2018 and taking influence from bands such as Pissed Jeans, Melvins, Mclusky, The Jesus Lizard and Whores, London noise-punks Muscle Vest reflect the struggle of the average person against an exploitative system within a crumbling state.
"Muscle Vest are one of the coolest bands out there."
- Operation X-Ray
"Muscle Vest pack in a boatload of adrenaline and bring ALL the noise: it’s fucking ugly and monstrously brutal, and those are its positive points. It ain’t polished or pretty, and if you’re on the market for something gnarly, look no further."
- Aural Aggression
"Utterly brilliant sounds"
- Independent Music Podcast
2023 Releases
Muscle Vest spent early 2023 recording and mixing new material with their very own Charlie Webb manning the desk.
Glue Trap (released 27/10) is the first single from this set of tracks, once again mastered by Alan Douches.
THREEEPS (released 24/11) is Muscle Vest’s first full-length release, compiling the band’s first three EPs plus two singles (Glue Trap and God Doesn't Love You). It documents the first four years of the band's life and it's blossoming into a burly, sleeveless, noise machine.
THREEEPS is due for a vinyl release soon.
HOT HOT HATE
Thrashed out and recorded live in a single day at Hempstead Road Studios by Steph Carter (Gallows, Lyoness), HOT HOT HATE represents the band's efforts to capture their furious live sound on record.
“As soon as Steph’s name was floated to us, out of all the options we knew that if anyone would get what we were trying to achieve right away, it would be him.”
The EP was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge).
Hot Hot Hate confronts contemporary ire - degenerate and callous behaviour shown towards women across all media, mid-life stagnation, and the struggle of achieving anything of note from within a collapsing society. Also, murders. Fun for the whole family!™
Hot Hot Hate follows Muscle Vest's 2021 EP “Live Laugh Loathe”, and follows the single “God Doesn’t Love You”, released as a split with Struggles with Syntax on Muzai Records in July 2022.
